Some of my scout friends dig the AirSoft thing. A lot. AirSoft weapons shoot safer rounds than old-school BBs and pellets, and the guns are generally made to look extremely realistic. Bad for the AirSoft enthusiast who gets caught speeding with one in his car, good for friends of AirSoft enthusiasts shooting little videos and in need of props. In today's example, I shot almost five minutes of footage of Colin, Bill, and Dave goofing around with their guns, then loaded it up and pieced it together as we watched Primer. After making three vignettes out of unrelated clips, separated by dramatic-looking static shots, I dropped in some muzzle flashes, and then tested out a feature that sends the sequence to Soundtrack Pro, where I can spend lots of time having fun with foley. Just to round out the package, I tried adding some livetype, but I've removed most of the titles 'cause it just looks too canned and ugly. More like Something Violent... (3.3 MB of Quicktime video) |
